1 tablespoon butter2 medium pears, peeled and chopped3 eggs1-3/4 cups heavy whipping cream1 cup sugar1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract7 cups cubed bread or egg bread1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted and divided
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add pears; cook and stir 4-6 minutes or until tender. Cool slightly. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, cream, sugar and vanilla until blended. Stir in pears and 1/4 cup walnuts. Stir in bread. Transfer to a greased 8-in.-square baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup walnuts. Bake until puffed, golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 45-50 minutes. Serve warm.
